Established in 1983 by Graham and Wendy Erhart the business has grown from strength to strength. Currently the business is owned by three shareholder groups. The majority share holder, ADM Capital  Cibus II fund is a London based company specialized in making sustainable food and agriculture investments in mid-sized companies that are leading the future of food through innovation, disruption, increased resource efficiency, and sustainability., The other shareholders are Mike and Anita Hindle and founders Graham and Wendy Erhart.

Through this partnership, Cibus Fund II and Withcott Seedlings are working together to enhance the application of technology and robotics to improve production efficiency, such as the automation of seeding, sorting, grafting, monitoring, watering, and feeding the seedlings. The business will also look to expand with targetted environmental planting projects to facilitate strong growth opportunities in the carbon offset plantings market, capitalizing on the growing demand in Australia for environmental planting driven by upcoming carbon projects.
